How Art Changes the Brain

Neuroaesthetics is a relatively recent subdiscipline of applied aesthetics.  Empirical aesthetics takes a scientific approach to the study of aesthetic experience of art, music, or any object that can give rise to aesthetic judgements.  Join Jin in a fun art lesson focusing on your creative work of art through your brains explanation, which involves the prefrontal cortex (in thinking) and limbic systems (for emotions). Each time we look at a piece of art, the 100 billion neurons in our brain are working to make sense of the visual information it is receiving.  As we paint and look at the art we create, our brains are stimulated and puts our innate knack for organizing patterns together and makes sense of the shapes and colors.
